Food and Development in Chile
Countries can not grow sustainably if sustainable food systems are absent. Even if a country is performing very well from the economical perspective, this must be also supported by a resilient food system.
In Chile appear to be a contradiction. While economic indicator like GDP has grown in the last year,.
The GDP of Chile (see the graph also here)
Bad indicators related to the food system like people undernourish, obesity in adults, and anemia in women should be improving, instead of increasing what is actually happening (see data here).I hope these information shake authorities, as well as the average Chilean population (or at least, creates awareness about it).
Everyone can play a role in solving these problems. From the personal up to the state level. Improving the world is a task we need to address together.
The next question will be: what you can do, or your authorities are doing to fix these problems.
